Our Travel Wellness Clinics are Designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres
The Public Health Agency of Canada issues the designation to health care sites that meet the qualifications to be a Yellow Fever Vaccination Center. Our clinics are sites where the public can receive the yellow fever vaccine and will be given the vaccination certificate that will be required for entry into many countries around the world.
Yellow Fever is virus that is transmitted by a mosquito. Some infected individuals will have very mild flu-like symptoms from this virus that can attack the liver. Up to 15% will have very serious side effects including death. The decision to recommend the yellow fever vaccine requires careful consideration of the areas you will be traveling to and the level of risk in those areas. Our health care professionals will also assess your current medical conditions, treatments and past medical history to ensure that you are a good candidate for the vaccine. We will discuss the risks and benefits with you prior to making a decision to administer the vaccine.
Proof of yellow fever vaccination may be required as a condition of entry into some countries. It may depend on your trip itinerary and what countries you have visited first. It is very important to bring your complete travel itinerary to your appointment.
